Component Library
Designed the Portfolio screen from user research and information architecture to UI design and usability testing. Considered different levels of investing experience and aimed to make data and analytics clear and easy to scan.
Role
UX/UI Designer
Research and Key Insights
The portfolio should be clear to users with different levels of investing experience
Researched the target audience, key user scenarios and competitor solutions to identify which data matters most to investors and how to make portfolio management clear for users with different levels of experience.
01
Beginners need an overview, while experienced users need more detail
Solution
Show key metrics immediately and reveal more details when needed
02
Large amounts of data can be difficult to process
Solution
Organize data into meaningful sections and use visual hierarchy and charts to make it easier to scan
03
Key actions should be immediately accessible
Solution
Bring key actions to the first level and connect them with the next steps in the user flow
From Portfolio Overview to the Right Level of Detail
Details are revealed as users explore the data more deeply
Users can quickly assess their portfolio status, review performance over time and move on to a more detailed analysis of asset allocation. Information is structured in layers to avoid overloading the main experience.
Quick Overview
Balance and key metrics allow users to assess the portfolio without going into details
Performance Over Time
The chart helps users assess changes in portfolio value and returns over a selected period
Portfolio Composition
Asset allocation makes it easy to understand what the portfolio consists of
Different Levels of Detail
Switching between sections allows users to gradually explore the data in more depth
Portfolio, Analytics and Key Actions on One Screen
Brought the essential portfolio information and key actions together on the main screen. Users can quickly assess their portfolio, add or withdraw funds and move to analytics.
Portfolio Status
Placed the balance and portfolio performance at the first level so users can understand the current status without opening analytics
Quick Actions
Placed deposit, withdrawal and analytics next to the balance, keeping the main actions within the core user flow
Asset Allocation
Placed the asset breakdown directly below the total value so users can assess the portfolio composition without opening additional details
Non-Intrusive Recommendations
Added analyst insights as a collapsible section to provide an additional scenario without interrupting the main portfolio experience
User Guidance and Learning
Added goals, learning content and an AI assistant to the main screen as an additional layer of support for users who want not only to track their portfolio but also to better understand their next steps
Simple Deposits and Withdrawals
Designed deposits and withdrawals as short, sequential flows. Users enter an amount, review the details and receive a clear confirmation without unnecessary intermediate screens.
Usability Testing
The prototype helped identify usability issues before the final UI was refined
Conducted lightweight usability testing of the prototype with several users with different levels of investing experience. Observed how they completed key scenarios, identified friction points and refined the solutions before finalizing the UI.
01
Quick Amount Selection
When making a deposit, users found it inconvenient to enter a common amount manually every time
Change:
Added quick selection of common amounts with the option to enter a custom value
02
Analytics at the First Level
Users looked for detailed information about their portfolio directly on the main screen
Change:
Moved analytics into the quick actions section, shortening the path to detailed data
03
Access to Transaction History
After completing a transfer, some users wanted to immediately open the history and check the completed transaction
Change:
Added a button to the confirmation screen for quick access to transaction history
Consistent Component Library
New screens can be built using reusable components
Organized the core interface elements into a reusable library, including colors, typography, grid, buttons, input fields, navigation, cards and other recurring components. This helped maintain consistent visuals and interaction patterns across different screens.
Design Outcome
Key portfolio information is available immediately, with more detail when needed
Brought portfolio status, key actions and access to analytics together on the main screen. Users can quickly understand the essentials and move to more detailed data when needed.
Clear Hierarchy
Balance, performance and asset allocation are immediately available and help users quickly assess their portfolio status
Access to Details
Detailed analytics are available separately and allow users to explore portfolio performance and composition in more depth
Key Actions Within Reach
Deposits, withdrawals and analytics are accessible directly from the main screen without unnecessary transitions
