Responsive Design
Conducted a UX audit of a manufacturing company’s website and analyzed competitors. Reworked the structure, navigation and key user flows, designed the website pages, refreshed the visual style and prepared responsive layouts and a UI Kit.
Role
UX/UI Designer
Main Issues with the Existing Website
The UX audit helped define the key redesign priorities
Analyzed the existing website, including its page structure, catalog, navigation and key product-related user flows. Also reviewed competitor websites to understand how product search, technical information and inquiry paths are typically organized in the industry.
01
Finding the Right Product in the Catalog Was Difficult
Solution
Simplify the catalog structure and shorten the path to the right category and product
02
Pages Contained Too Much Information
Solution
Rebuild the page hierarchy, highlight the most important content and organize information into clear sections
03
It Wasn’t Always Clear How to Submit an Inquiry
Solution
Make the inquiry path more visible and place relevant calls to action in key sections of the website
Simplified Catalog and Product Browsing
Products can be found by category, name or model
Previously, products were presented as a single list without search or clear categorization. Added categories and subcategories, search and side navigation to support different ways of browsing the catalog, as well as recently viewed products so users can easily return to items they have already explored.
Search and Navigation
Added search by product name and model, categories and subcategories, as well as side navigation to make the product range easier to explore
Technical Documents
Added the option to download a price list from the catalog and a technical data sheet from the product page for users who prefer working with product lists and technical data outside the website
A Homepage That Guides Users Right Away
The right section is easy to find
On the previous homepage, it was difficult to quickly understand what the company offered and where to go next. Moved the service overview, key product categories and inquiry action higher on the page, while placing secondary information further down the hierarchy.
Clear What the Company Does
Showed the core services and a clear inquiry action directly in the hero section
Key Product Categories on the Homepage
Moved product categories higher on the page so users don’t have to search for them deeper in the site
Presented the Company Through Experience, Manufacturing and Real Projects
The page makes it easy to see who stands behind the product and what experience the company brings
On the previous page, company information was buried in a large block of text. Split it into meaningful sections and highlighted the most important content, including the company’s experience, history, manufacturing and completed projects.
Company Experience in Numbers
Highlighted key metrics and facts separately so the company’s experience would not get lost in long-form content
Real Projects and Major Clients
Added completed projects and major clients to demonstrate the company’s experience through real examples
Multiple User Scenarios
Users come to the website with different goals, so they need different ways to find the right information
Considered different user goals during the redesign. Some users come looking for a specific product, others need technical data for work, while some first want to learn more about the company before making an inquiry.
01
I Already Know What I Need
Search by product name and model helps users find a specific item right away, while categories and subcategories provide another way to browse the product range
02
I Need Prices and Specifications
The price list and technical data sheet can be downloaded separately for users who prefer working with this information outside the website
03
First, I Want to Know Who I’m Working With
The company’s history, manufacturing, completed projects and major clients help users evaluate the business before making an inquiry
Contacts and Locations in One Place
Users can choose a convenient way to get in touch and quickly find the right location
Brought the main contact options and company addresses together on one page. Grouped contact details by type and displayed office locations both as a list and on a map so users can quickly find the information they need.
Multiple Contact Options
Separated phone, email and social channels into dedicated sections so users can choose the most convenient option
Addresses and Locations
Displayed company addresses both as a list and on a map to make the right office easier to find
Redesign Outcome
The website became clearer in structure, easier to use for product search and more visually consistent
Redesigned the website structure and key pages, added new product search scenarios, simplified access to technical information and made the company presentation clearer. Prepared responsive layouts and a UI Kit so the interface would remain consistent across different screen sizes and pages.
Clearer Structure
The catalog, product pages, company information and contacts are organized around clear user goals
Easier Product Discovery
Search, categories, subcategories, documents and recently viewed products support different ways of working with the catalog
Consistent Interface
Prepared responsive layouts and a UI Kit so the website maintains a consistent visual language and interaction logic across different screen sizes
